Jaipur, May 30: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated on Saturday that municipal employees play a crucial role in realizing the vision of ‘Developed Rajasthan 2047’. He emphasized that integrity, transparency, and timely public service are the true foundations of good governance.
While addressing the ninth Grand Convention of the Rajasthan Municipal Employees Union at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) in Jaipur, the Chief Minister urged municipal employees to maintain honesty in public service and to stay away from corruption.
Sharma highlighted that the state government adopts a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s principle of “Neither will I take bribes, nor will I let others.”
He elaborated on the state’s anti-corruption measures, noting that 103 government officials have been suspended due to corruption allegations, six have been dismissed from service, and pensions of 11 officials have been permanently halted.
The Chief Minister mentioned that prosecution has been approved in 108 cases related to bribery, abuse of power, and disproportionate assets, while actions have commenced in 37 additional cases under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Sharma further stated that cleanliness and quality civic amenities define a city’s identity, calling municipal employees the backbone of urban sanitation and public services.
Referring to the Clean Survey 2025, he noted that the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation has achieved the 16th position nationally among cities with populations over one million, while Udaipur secured the 13th position among cities with populations between three hundred thousand and one million.
“Our goal is to make Rajasthan’s cities leaders in cleanliness at the national level,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister remarked that Prime Minister Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission has transformed into a nationwide movement, significantly improving sanitation practices and enhancing dignity through toilet construction in homes.
He also highlighted urban infrastructure development under the Smart City Mission and the state government’s focus on water conservation and environmental sustainability.
Sharma announced that this year, the state government is launching a community-driven campaign for the conservation of the Ganga water.
Under the Hariyalo Rajasthan initiative, nearly two crore plants have been planted, with a target of planting one crore more this year.
He added that for the first time, sandalwood forests will be developed in Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is progressing towards creating clean, organized, and modern urban centers, focusing on technology, transparency, and accountability.
He revealed that under the Amrit 2.0 scheme, 363 projects worth ₹11,560 crores are being implemented across 200 cities and towns.
