Lucknow, May 30: The Lucknow police have arrested two wanted suspects involved in a scheme to illegally seize ancestral land worth millions through forged documents.
The case was registered on December 11, 2025, by the complainant Sameer Mirza, son of the late Kaiser Mirza, a resident of Khayaliganj, Kaisarbagh, Lucknow. He alleged that attempts were being made to illegally claim his ancestral land located in Amethi village, Mohanlalganj tehsil, using fake and fabricated documents.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the main accused, Mohammad Fareed Mirza, had created forged records to present himself as the heir of the complainant’s deceased uncle, Khusru Mirza. He concealed his actual family details and prepared fake birth and death certificates, among other documents, to present in court and other forums. Alarmingly, the accused even prepared a false death certificate for his living mother, using misleading documents related to her alleged burial.
Reports from relevant departments and institutions confirmed that these records were indeed fake. The investigation revealed that several other individuals were also actively involved in this conspiracy. The accused attempted to strengthen their claim on the property by posing as relatives of the complainant. They transferred funds obtained from land sale agreements into various bank accounts. Witness statements, banking transactions, and other evidence confirmed the involvement of the accused. Mohammad Fareed Mirza, Mohammad Ashfaq Mirza alias Babu Miyan, and Kaleem Khan are already incarcerated in Lucknow District Jail.
In their pursuit of justice, the police were actively searching for the absconding suspects Furkan Ahmed Abbasi (46 years) and Abhishek Yadav (28 years). On Friday, the Mohanlalganj police team successfully apprehended both suspects near Baradari Chowk, Kaisarbagh, Lucknow.
