Baloch Republican Guards Claim Responsibility for Attack on Road Construction Site in Balochistan

Quetta, May 1: The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) have claimed responsibility for an attack that occurred on April 29, damaging machinery at a road construction site near Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan province, Pakistan.

According to local media reports, police officials stated that unidentified assailants fired rockets at the site, resulting in the destruction of equipment and halting work. They confirmed that an investigation is underway, and no casualties have been reported from the incident.

BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch issued a statement claiming their fighters targeted a “military company” working on a government construction project in the area. They asserted that the company’s machinery was completely destroyed.

The attack took place on the road near the Pit Feeder Pirupal area in Dera Murad Jamali. The spokesperson warned local contractors to steer clear of “government projects,” stating that they would be responsible for their safety and financial losses if they did not comply. He emphasized that the organization would continue such operations until “Balochistan’s freedom” is achieved.

Last month, both the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and BRG took responsibility for several attacks in Balochistan’s Awaran, Zhaoo, Basima, and Sibi areas, targeting security forces and government installations.

In March, BRG also claimed responsibility for damaging a major gas pipeline that transports gas from the Sui gas field to Karachi. According to spokesperson Dostain Baloch, the explosion caused significant damage to the pipeline.

BRG reiterated its opposition to the “exploitation” of Balochistan’s natural resources and vowed to continue targeting such activities.

In recent days, attacks in Balochistan have been on the rise, with the Pakistani army and police being primary targets. These incidents have resulted in considerable loss of life and damage to infrastructure.
