Chandigarh, June 10: BJP MP Kiran Chaudhary has launched a strong critique against the opposition, focusing on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the subsidies provided to farmers, and the political landscape in West Bengal. She emphasized that Modi’s sustained popularity and the public’s trust position him among the longest-serving Prime Ministers in India.
In a conversation, Chaudhary stated that the citizens have repeatedly chosen Modi, demonstrating their confidence in his leadership to propel India towards development and self-reliance.
She highlighted the unprecedented improvements in connectivity across the country over recent years. The extensive expansion of roads, expressways, and national highways has accelerated development. The central government has launched numerous initiatives to achieve the goal of a self-reliant India, including significant steps toward women’s empowerment.
Addressing the issue of subsidies for urea and other fertilizers, Chaudhary affirmed the government’s commitment to protecting farmers’ interests despite rising international costs. She noted that most fertilizers used in India are imported, and global price increases have significantly raised costs. Nevertheless, the government is ensuring that farmers do not bear the additional burden, providing substantial subsidies to support them. While this puts pressure on the national treasury, it is essential for safeguarding farmers and maintaining agricultural production.
On the potential rift within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, Chaudhary remarked that the party’s grassroots support is rapidly declining. She accused the TMC of relying on intimidation and a syndicate culture for too long. Now, the BJP presents a strong alternative to the public. The party’s stringent policies against Bangladeshi infiltrators and actions taken in the national interest are garnering support from the people. The growing discontent within the TMC and conflicts among its leaders indicate that the party is weakening from within.
Additionally, Chaudhary targeted Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda regarding rumors of his connections with former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. She pointed out that Singh himself has denied such claims. Senior leaders should refrain from making unfounded statements, she added, sarcastically suggesting that anyone could make similar claims about anyone else. According to her, such statements reflect the opposition’s unsuccessful political strategy, prompting them to create distractions.
