Chinese Foreign Minister Holds Talks with Mongolian Counterpart

Beijing, June 15: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Mongolian counterpart, Batmunkh Battsetseg, in Ulaanbaatar on June 13.

Wang Yi emphasized that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors. The China-Mongolia Friendship and Cooperation Treaty stipulates that both nations will adhere to the five principles of peaceful coexistence. This agreement ensures that neither country will allow actions that could harm the national sovereignty and security of the other. Such a commitment is crucial for the healthy development of bilateral relations.

Wang Yi stated that China will remain a reliable partner for Mongolia, offering support for its development. He expressed China’s readiness to enhance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, expand economic and trade collaboration, and advance cooperation across various sectors.

Batmunkh Battsetseg highlighted that Mongolia values its relationship with its neighboring countries, particularly China. Strengthening ties with neighboring nations is a priority in Mongolia’s diplomatic strategy. In light of increasingly complex global circumstances, closer cooperation between Mongolia and China is essential.

Following their discussions, both foreign ministers signed an annual cooperation program between their respective foreign ministries and addressed the media together. Wang Yi reiterated that both countries should foster mutual trust and support, acting as good neighbors and partners. Increased exchanges and mutual assistance are vital for their relationship.
