Outrage Grows Over Jamui Incident as Bihar Minister Calls It a Minor Incident

Jamui, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : A video showing the mistreatment of a minor girl in Jamui, Bihar, has gone viral, igniting widespread anger across the country. The situation escalated further when Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar referred to the incident as a “minor occurrence.” This comment has drawn sharp criticism from various political leaders.

Congress MP Karamveer Singh Bauddh condemned the incident, labeling it as “highly condemnable.” He expressed concern that such events instill fear in millions of girls attending schools and colleges. Bauddh criticized Kumar’s remarks, stating that although the minister bears a historically significant name, he is unworthy of it. “If he considers this a trivial matter, I believe he should undergo a medical check-up,” Bauddh remarked.

He emphasized that being an MP loses its significance if safety cannot be assured in the country. “The same mindset towards girls persists. Strict action must be taken against those who perpetrate such acts,” he added.

Sasaram MLA Snehalata Kushwaha also condemned the Jamui incident, asserting her commitment to support the victim’s family and ensure that their plight is brought to the forefront. “Justice will be served to the victim’s family, and the government will act swiftly against the offenders,” she stated. Kushwaha noted that three suspects have already been arrested, with efforts underway to apprehend others who remain at large.

Leaders from the BJP have also expressed their concern regarding the incident. Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC, speaking from Mumbai, stated, “I have seen the video, and all I can say is that we are living in a dark age. A minor girl is pleading for help, and our society harbors such ruthless individuals. The perpetrators should face capital punishment.”

Meanwhile, BJP’s chief spokesperson in Ranchi, Pratul Shahdev, described the video as deeply disturbing. “The way some monsters, including minor offenders, are harassing a young girl is beyond words,” he said.

BJP national spokesperson Guru Prakash stressed that the government is treating this matter with utmost seriousness. “This incident has shaken us to our core. Some occurrences cannot be justified in any manner. Maintaining law and order is our priority, and the people of Bihar have placed their trust in us,” he affirmed.
