Patna, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated in Bihar following an alleged incident of harassment and assault involving minors in Jamui. Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, took to social media on Tuesday to sharply criticize Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
In his post on the platform X, Yadav presented a fictional dialogue purportedly between the Chief Minister and a police officer, questioning the government’s and police’s response to the incident. He began by stating that during the Jamui incident, while Chaudhary was at a caste conference, he called a police officer at night to inquire about the color of a scarf worn by one of the accused.
Yadav’s satirical portrayal of the alleged conversation suggested that when the officer described the scarf as saffron, Chaudhary remarked that the accused could not be a “saffron rapist” and questioned if there was any green color in the scarf. The opposition leader also referenced AI in his critique of the Chief Minister.
He further alleged that in the supposed exchange, the Chief Minister asked the officer about the caste of the accused and directed him to look for a “Muslim and Yadav angle.” Yadav included what he claimed were tense exchanges between the police officer and the Chief Minister, mentioning the possibility of suspending the officer if no action was taken.
Yadav also took a jab at Chaudhary regarding election politics, questioning what song Prime Minister Narendra Modi might perform during the campaign, even referencing lyrics from a popular tune.
In concluding his post, Yadav mocked the dialogue involving the “green scarf” and AI, suggesting that inquiries should be made about which officer had fed Chaudhary this information. His comments come amid ongoing accusations and counter-accusations between the state government and the opposition regarding the Jamui incident.
Following the emergence of a video related to the incident, police have initiated action and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. Three individuals have been arrested, while efforts to identify others involved are underway. It is noteworthy that Yadav has previously raised concerns about law and order and women’s safety in relation to the Jamui case. The Chief Minister and the ruling coalition have stated that they will take action against the accused.
