Patna, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has launched a significant operation in Patna, targeting Kamlesh Kumar, the General Manager (Technical) of Bihar State Building Corporation Limited. This raid is part of an ongoing campaign against corruption in the state.
On September 21, 2026, the EOU filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Kumar for allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to his known income. The investigation was initiated based on credible information regarding Kumar’s financial dealings. The FIR has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Kumar’s declared income is approximately ₹3.12 crore, but he is accused of holding assets that exceed this figure by about 103.30%. Following the issuance of a search warrant from a special vigilance court in Patna, EOU teams conducted simultaneous searches at four locations linked to Kumar on Tuesday morning.
The raids were conducted at Kumar’s ancestral home in the village of Sarvodaya Maidan in Vaishali district, his flat in Manmohan Apartment, SK Puri, and the office of the Bihar State Building Corporation in Patna. EOU teams, led by Deputy Superintendents of Police, are inspecting these sites for documents related to both movable and immovable assets, as well as financial transactions.
The EOU has indicated that further details will be provided once the search operations are concluded. Currently, officials are meticulously reviewing documents and other potential evidence at all locations involved.
