North Korea Claims Major Progress in Defense Technology Following New Weapon Test

Seoul, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : North Korea has announced significant advancements in its defense technology following a recent missile launch. On Tuesday, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the country’s missile bureau conducted a successful test of a new combat weapon system in the presence of leader Kim Jong-un.

The exact nature of the weapon system has not been disclosed. However, officials emphasized that this test is crucial for advancing the country’s military capabilities. This announcement came just two days after South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff revealed that North Korea had fired two short-range ballistic missiles from the Wonsan area toward the East Sea.

Kim Jong-un described the test as a clear demonstration of modern defense technology and a significant shift toward modernizing the armed forces. He stated that such advancements are vital for the nation’s combat readiness and the future development of its military.

According to KCNA, Kim asserted that adversaries would fully understand the implications of this technological progress from a military standpoint. He claimed that this development poses a formidable challenge for opponents that is unavoidable.

In a separate development, North Korea condemned a recent report from a U.S.-led multilateral sanctions monitoring team, labeling it as illegal. The North accused the team of misrepresenting normal activities as unlawful. Pyongyang defended its program of sending workers abroad as part of legitimate economic relations with other countries.

The multilateral sanctions monitoring team (MSMT) reported last week that North Korea continues to send workers abroad in violation of United Nations sanctions. The report indicated that approximately 100,000 North Korean workers are currently in at least 17 countries, primarily in China and Russia. Some of these workers are reportedly involved in manufacturing military drones in Russian factories.

A spokesperson for North Korea’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement released by KCNA, criticized the MSMT, claiming it is a conspiratorial organization that distorts normal activities into illegal ones.
