New Delhi, June 8: BJP spokesperson RP Singh commented on the growing internal conflicts within the India Alliance ahead of its meeting scheduled for June 8. He noted that several parties involved in the alliance are dissatisfied with Congress. The DMK has decided to boycott the meeting, while CPI(M) and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have openly criticized Congress. Other parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction of Shiv Sena, and National Conference, are also opting out of the meeting.
Singh stated, “The India Alliance, which is said to stretch from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, is actually nowhere to be seen. This alliance was formed solely to oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Subsequently, all parties have focused on their own political interests.”
He pointed out that in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee and Congress are at odds, while in Kerala, Congress and left parties are contesting against each other. In Tamil Nadu, the DMK has also raised questions about Congress.
Singh claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s position as Leader of the Opposition could be at risk within the next year. He mentioned that upcoming elections in various states will raise new questions about leadership within Congress.
Responding to Ashok Gehlot’s recent statements regarding the Congress presidency, Singh remarked that it is not new information. Everyone knows that he was offered the position but declined. At that time, he preferred the chief minister role over the organizational position.
When asked about Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, Singh said that the public in Bengal is troubled by Abhishek’s style of functioning and alleged lawlessness. Many leaders within the party now wish to distance themselves from him.
Regarding allegations concerning donations to the Ram Temple, Singh stated, “Akhilesh Yadav should visit the Ram Temple first before raising such questions. If he has any evidence, he should make it public. Accusations without proof are inappropriate.”
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s extended tenure, he emphasized that it is not just a record of duration but also a record of transforming the lives of millions through welfare schemes. He asserted that government policies have lifted millions of Indians above the poverty line.
Concerning the inspection of madrasas, he insisted that institutions receiving government support should undergo transparent scrutiny. It must be ensured who is studying there and how taxpayer money is being spent.
