Irans Deputy Foreign Minister Criticizes US for Miscalculations

New Delhi, August 20: Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has accused the United States of making erroneous assessments regarding Iran’s stability. He stated that the US portrays Iran as being on the verge of collapse while simultaneously seeking assistance from its allies.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Gharibabadi wrote, “They claim that Iran is on the brink of breaking down and is struggling to survive, yet they appeal for help from all their allies. The issue lies in their miscalculations. Each time they attempt to conceal these errors, they create an even greater failure for themselves.”

He further noted that military confrontations have yielded no results for the US, leading them to label their next failure as an “economic war.”

Previously, Gharibabadi mentioned that Iran has ceased fulfilling its responsibilities under the peace agreement with the US, accusing Washington of violating its commitments under the deal.

In an interview with state-run IRIB TV, Gharibabadi stated that the US has effectively broken or canceled all its commitments under the agreement. He emphasized that Iran is now focused on self-defense, with no news of negotiations on the horizon.

He remarked that the challenge ahead is to defend the country robustly. He reiterated that the Americans have already received a response indicating that aggressive actions will yield no results. If they are wise, they should consider alternative approaches.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi believes that President Donald Trump’s “Economic D-Day” sanctions will backfire. Trump announced the sanctions during a press conference at the White House, claiming that they would also impact Iran’s supporters and partners.

Rejecting Trump’s campaign of sanctions, Araghchi asserted that the so-called “Economic D-Day” is an attempt to divert attention from domestic issues in the US.

In a post on X, he wrote, “This move is aimed at distracting from Washington’s insurmountable debt and rising interest expenses.” He added, “Sticking to failed policies will only lead to more losses.”
