Defense Minister Pays Tribute to Former PM Rajiv Gandhi on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi, August 20: On the occasion of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to him. In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, he wrote, “I pay my respects to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. He played a significant role in India’s development journey.”

Congress leader Sachin Pilot also took to social media, stating, “Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi believed in adopting modern technology and new ideas for India’s construction and progress. It was essential to provide proper arrangements and opportunities for the participation and development of youth talent.”

Pilot added, “With his vision, he redefined modernization in the country. Key decisions like the expansion of the computer and telecommunications revolution played a crucial role in elevating the nation. On his birth anniversary, I pay my heartfelt respects.”

Congress MP Pawan Khera posted on ‘X’, “Rajiv Gandhi was not only the Prime Minister of India but also one of the biggest supporters of youth, a leader who believed that young Indians are not just the future but the force that will build a modern nation. His vision of a modern, technologically advanced, and economically empowered India serves as inspiration and responsibility for the Congress party. A heartfelt tribute to Rajiv ji on his 82nd birth anniversary.”

Opposition Leader in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Umang Singhar, expressed on social media, “I respectfully salute former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. His contributions to advancing India into the 21st century, laying the foundation for the information and communication revolution, empowering Panchayati Raj institutions, and guiding the youth are unforgettable. His progressive ideas, commitment to democratic values, and resolve for nation-building will always remain a source of inspiration.”
