
Ranchi, June 7: The India Alliance has showcased its unity in preparation for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand, asserting that the victory of both candidates is assured. A significant meeting of all coalition parties was held under the leadership of Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) President Hemant Soren on Sunday. JMM candidate Baidyanath Ram and Congress candidate Pranav Jha were also present at the meeting.
During a media interaction post-meeting, JMM’s Central General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey stated that a detailed discussion on the Rajya Sabha elections took place under Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership. He announced that both candidates would file their nominations on Monday, with all coalition legislators standing united alongside them. Pandey emphasized that given the current political landscape and the number of legislators, it is clear that the victory of both India Alliance candidates is certain. He added that the coalition would adjust its strategy as needed over time.
Congress Legislative Party leader Pradeep Yadav also stressed the unity of the alliance, noting that all legislators gathered under Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership to discuss electoral strategies. He confirmed that all legislators would collectively file their nominations at 11 AM on Monday. Yadav asserted that the JMM, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress, CPI (ML), and other leftist parties are fully united. He expressed confidence that both candidates would win and that the India Alliance would once again demonstrate its strength.
CPI (ML) legislator Babulal Mahto echoed the coalition’s strength, stating that under Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s leadership, the India Alliance is entirely organized. He noted that all 56 coalition legislators stand united in support of both candidates, and this unity will be evident during the nomination process on Monday. Mahto predicted that just as the alliance will appear united during nominations, it will also showcase solidarity on voting day, ensuring electoral victory.
