Bhopal, August 19: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the importance of embodying the teachings of Sant Shiroamani Guru Ravidas to strengthen social harmony. He stated that eradicating caste discrimination and untouchability is essential for building a united society.
The state-level Kalash Vandan Yatra, commemorating the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiroamani Guru Ravidas, was inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp in the capital, Bhopal. Following this, the national anthem “Vande Mataram” was sung. The event concluded with the distribution of kalash (urns) by dignitaries, marking the commencement of the Yatra.
CM Yadav further announced that the state government would celebrate the 650th anniversary of Sant Ravidas with grandeur and reverence. A memorial and pilgrimage site dedicated to Sant Ravidas, being constructed in Sagar at a cost of 1 billion rupees, is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Additionally, a Gurudwara named after Sant Shiroamani will be built in Ujjain. The government plans to enhance all locations in Madhya Pradesh where the saint’s footprints are found. BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal stated that the party aims to spread the message of social harmony promoted by Sant Ravidas to every citizen. The Samarasata campaign will run for seven months, ensuring that the saint’s teachings reach every village and community through BJP workers.
Union Minister Durgadas Uike remarked that the teachings of Sant Ravidas guide us towards social harmony and equality. BJP National Vice President Lal Singh Arya highlighted that the primary goal of the Samarasata Sankalp campaign is to disseminate the thoughts and words of Sant Ravidas to the masses.
Senior party leader Dushyant Gautam affirmed that the message of Sant Shiroamani Guru Ravidas will be delivered to every household. CM Mohan Yadav and BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal honored the saints and community members present at the event with flower showers. The welcome address was delivered by state minister Nagar Singh Chouhan, while the event was conducted by Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki, the state coordinator of the Samarasata Sankalp campaign.
