New Delhi, September 3: The police in North East Delhi’s Nand Nagri area have successfully resolved an attempted murder case within just two hours, arresting three suspects, including two minors. The police also recovered the knife used in the attack and clothing stained with the victim’s blood.
According to police reports, at approximately 10:21 PM on September 2, they received information about a stabbing incident in H-Block, Street Number 10 of Sundar Nagri. Upon arrival, the police found that the victim had already been taken to GTB Hospital by family members. A forensic team was called to gather crucial evidence from the scene.
During the investigation, the injured victim, Atul (35), a resident of H-Block, Sundar Nagri, revealed that he had a verbal altercation with Neeraj and two other local boys over kite flying on August 16. Although the issue was initially resolved, the accused developed a grudge against him.
Atul stated that on the night of September 2, around 10 PM, he was sitting outside his home when the three assailants approached him and attacked him with a knife before fleeing the scene.
An FIR was registered at Nand Nagri police station under sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and an investigation was launched.
Under the leadership of SHO Inspector Anand Yadav, the police team acted swiftly based on technical and local intelligence, apprehending all three suspects within two hours of the incident.
The arrested individuals include Neeraj (21) from Sundar Nagri and two minors aged 17 years and 6 months, and 17 years and 11 months.
During questioning, the suspects admitted their involvement in the crime. Based on their information, the police recovered the knife used in the attack and the blood-stained clothing worn during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
