Chinas Economy Shows Stability in First Seven Months of 2026

Beijing, August 19: Recent data released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China on August 17 reveals that the national economy has remained stable during the first seven months of this year. From January to July, there has been consistent growth in production and supply, while employment and prices have generally remained stable. The foreign trade sector has shown resilience, and new driving forces are emerging, indicating a shift towards a more innovative and improved economy.

Industrial production has seen a significant increase, and the service sector has recorded steady growth. During this period, the added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size rose by 5.3% compared to the same timeframe last year. Additionally, the production index of the national service sector increased by 4.7% year-on-year.

Market sales have expanded, with a rapid increase in investment in products with intellectual property rights. There has also been a notable rise in both imports and exports of goods. Employment conditions have remained generally stable, accompanied by a slight increase in market prices.

Overall, the national economy has operated smoothly from January to July, maintaining a positive and innovative growth trend. However, the external environment remains complex and unstable. Domestically, the contradiction between strong supply and weak demand is evident, and some enterprises are facing operational difficulties. There is still a need to strengthen the foundation for stable and positive economic growth.
