New Delhi, September 3: The CISF Welfare Association, Surakshika, launched several initiatives on Thursday aimed at skill development, educational support, and welfare for CISF families. These initiatives include the introduction of skill development training programs at eight locations through Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), a memorandum of understanding with the Drishti Group for discounted coaching for competitive exams, and the distribution of wheelchairs to the disabled children of CISF personnel.
The event took place at the CISF headquarters mess in New Delhi, attended by CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan and senior officials of the force.
Under Surakshika’s ‘Saksham’ initiative, vocational skill development programs are being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Government of India and JSS.
The program aims to provide skill-based training to family members of CISF personnel, enhancing opportunities for self-employment and entrepreneurship. A total of 13 batches across eight CISF units have enrolled for training.
As part of the program, JSS will provide instructors, equipment, and tools, while the respective CISF units will offer training venues. Participants will also receive certificates aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
Surakshika has also signed a memorandum of understanding with the CEO of Drishti IAS, which will offer discounted coaching for civil service and other competitive exams to serving and retired CISF personnel, as well as the spouses and dependents of martyrs who died in the line of duty. This discount will apply to new enrollments for the academic years 2026-27 to 2028-29.
Drishti IAS provides coaching in Hindi and English for UPSC civil services, judiciary, state PCS, teaching exams, and CUET.
Dr. Vikas Divyakirti stated that this partnership will help fulfill the educational aspirations of CISF families, providing them with quality guidance and better access to competitive exam preparation.
As part of its welfare initiatives, Surakshika distributed wheelchairs to families of CISF personnel with disabled children, aimed at enhancing their mobility and independence.
Speaking on the occasion, CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan praised the initiatives launched by Surakshika for the welfare and empowerment of CISF families.
