Patna, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Bihar’s Agriculture Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, has pledged that the state government will ensure farmers do not face shortages of fertilizers and seeds. This commitment comes in the wake of heightened political tensions following opposition leader Rahul Gandhi‘s accusations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Sinha criticized Gandhi, asserting that disrespecting constitutional authorities is embedded in the Congress party’s character.
Sinha announced that a nationwide meeting led by the Union Agriculture Minister will take place soon. This gathering aims to discuss preparations for the upcoming Rabi season, focusing on how to enhance farmers’ yields and income through natural farming practices.
Addressing the ongoing Pitrapaksha festival, Sinha highlighted its significance in expressing gratitude to ancestors, reflecting the deep-rooted traditions of Sanatan culture. He emphasized the importance of honoring nature and all living beings, stating that Bihar is ready to welcome those who come to pay their respects at Gaya.
In response to comments from Chirag Paswan regarding law and order in Bihar, Sinha asserted that the government is diligently addressing issues. He noted that while farmers previously protested over fertilizer shortages, this year, the government has ensured a steady supply. The implementation of the Agri-Stack Farmer ID will facilitate the distribution of subsidies for fertilizers and seeds.
Sinha also met with retailers and wholesalers to address their concerns, ensuring that agricultural officers in each district monitor the distribution of fertilizers and pesticides. He warned companies that fail to comply with government directives would face consequences, reaffirming that Bihar will not be a grazing ground for exploitation.
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about Gyanesh Kumar, Sinha stated that the Congress party is suffering from despair. He criticized Gandhi for repeatedly undermining constitutional institutions, suggesting that such behavior has led to the party’s decline in public trust.
In contrast, the Bihar Congress president has called for nationwide protests, claiming that irregularities occurred under Gyanesh Kumar’s oversight, particularly regarding Form-6. He demanded immediate action against Kumar, asserting that Gandhi’s long-standing concerns were validated by Kumar’s recent media statements.
The political landscape in Bihar remains charged as both sides prepare for potential confrontations over these pressing issues affecting farmers and electoral integrity.
