New Delhi, June 20: Senior Congress leader and MP Tariq Anwar has responded sharply to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statements, claiming that Shah is intent on creating an opposition-free India.
During an event, Amit Shah remarked that previously, the faction of Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde was referred to as a ‘group.’ He stated that now, there is only Shiv Sena, with no factions remaining.
Speaking in New Delhi, Congress MP Tariq Anwar asserted that Shah aims to eliminate the opposition from the country. According to Anwar, Shah envisions a political landscape where only parties supporting the BJP remain, while others are expected to defect to their side.
Recalling a past statement by Prime Minister Modi, Anwar noted that Modi has often expressed a desire for a Congress-free India. However, Anwar emphasized that the actual goal is to establish an opposition-free India.
On the recent gang-rape incident involving a woman in Begusarai, Bihar, Anwar condemned the event, stating that it deserves the utmost denunciation. He criticized the current NDA government for coming to power by highlighting the lawlessness in Bihar, while violent crimes such as murders, rapes, and robberies continue to plague the state.
Regarding the SIT investigation into donations for the Ram Temple, Anwar remarked that even the Ram Temple is not safe under the BJP government. This incident has revealed that while the temple holds significant faith for the Hindu community, there are reports of misappropriation of donations.
He questioned the actions of the Yogi government, asking what measures have been taken and why no bulldozers have been deployed. Anwar suggested that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statements seem to be mere attempts to deflect attention from the issue. If even the Ram Temple is subject to theft, he questioned what expectations can be held from the government.
In a separate issue, Anwar addressed a mix-up regarding the admit card of a student preparing for NEET. He pointed out that it highlights a significant failure in the system. A student from Nagpur should have been assigned an exam center in Nagpur, yet was instead allocated a center in Abu Dhabi.
