Kathmandu, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Humanitarian assistance from India to Nepal remains steadfast amid the devastating floods affecting the region. On September 4, two C-130J aircraft landed in Kathmandu carrying 21.5 tons of essential relief supplies. The materials were handed over to Mahabir Pun, Nepal’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, late Thursday night.
Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared updates on social media platform X, confirming that these aircraft delivered crucial supplies, which included forensic kits and medical materials. This additional aid aims to bolster ongoing relief and rescue operations, playing a vital role in supporting affected individuals and communities.
The Ministry emphasized India’s commitment to standing in solidarity with Nepal during this crisis, continuing its collaborative efforts in relief work. India has been consistently extending a helping hand to Nepal during these challenging times. Prior to this, five relief flights had already delivered supplies to the country on various dates.
Notably, the fifth relief aircraft arrived in Kathmandu just a day earlier, transporting an 11-member rescue team along with specialized equipment and 5.5 tons of essential medicines. By Wednesday, India had dispatched over 68 tons of relief materials and specialized rescue teams to aid Nepal. The supplies included blankets, sleeping bags, durable tarps, plastic sheets, hygiene kits, food packets, solar lamps, water purification tablets, and portable generators.
