Srinagar, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : An incident occurred at Srinagar Airport on the morning of September 4, involving an Indigo aircraft. While parking, the plane made contact with a pole associated with the Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS). This pole is equipped with a display unit and connected laser or camera sensors.
The flight, designated 6E 225 (VT-NOG), was arriving from Navi Mumbai and was maneuvering to park at bay number 6 when the collision happened around 9:02 AM.
According to the Srinagar Airport Authority, all passengers and crew members were unharmed, and there were no reports of injuries. Passengers were safely disembarked using manual stairs.
Authorities confirmed that an investigation into the incident would follow standard procedure to determine the cause. Operations at the airport remained normal, with all flights continuing on schedule.
This incident occurred just a day after another Indigo flight, 6E 1302, was diverted from Doha to Bengaluru due to the sudden illness of the pilot, who required immediate medical assistance. After landing in Muscat, the pilot received medical attention and is reportedly in stable condition.
Indigo arranged for another aircraft and crew to ensure that passengers could reach their destination. The airline provided refreshments and regular updates to those waiting in Muscat.
