Noida, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Noida are gearing up for Janmashtami celebrations on Friday, September 4, with special prayers and religious events planned at various temples. Given the expected influx of devotees, both police and traffic departments have implemented extensive security and traffic measures.
The ISKCON temple in Sector 33 is anticipated to draw the largest crowds. In response, traffic diversions have been established around the temple area. Police officials report that over 600 officers, including about 150 from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and more than 300 police personnel, will be on duty. They will ensure crowd control and maintain smooth traffic flow around key temples.
To accommodate the anticipated surge of visitors, traffic police have made adjustments to vehicle access near the ISKCON temple. Vehicles coming from the ATPIC underpass towards Gijhor Chauraha and Gijhor Chowk will be prohibited. However, vehicles heading towards the Atta underpass from Gijhor will be allowed to use alternative routes via Hoshiyarpur Tirahe.
Parking arrangements have been made near the Adobe building for devotees visiting the temple. For VIP vehicles, parking will be available at Shilp Haat, accessible from the Sector 33/34 intersection. Traffic police have also designated alternative routes for vehicles traveling from the Sector 31/25 intersection towards Sector 60, Sector 62, and Indirapuram, allowing them to proceed through Spice Mall and Adobe Chowk.
These measures aim to alleviate traffic pressure around the temple during the festivities. While the ISKCON temple is expected to be the main attraction, other prominent temples in the city will also see significant crowds.
Special security arrangements have been established at all major temples. Police will be stationed in the temple premises, ready to reroute vehicles as necessary. Traffic diversions may also be applied near the Sanatan Dharma temple in Sector 19 if required, controlling traffic from DM Chowk towards Rai Residency and the telephone exchange.
Similarly, traffic restrictions may be enforced between the Sandeep Paper Mill Chauraha and Golchakkar Chowk near the temple in Sector 2 as needed. Police officials are urging the public to avoid unnecessary vehicle use around temples during Janmashtami and to utilize designated parking areas.
