Jaipur, December 8 (Daily Kiran) – A passing out parade ceremony was held on Monday at the Rajasthan Police Academy, where 317 women constables completed their training and officially joined the Rajasthan Police force. The parade marked the inclusion of these new women officers into the police department, symbolising a significant step towards women empowerment in law enforcement.

The chief guest of the event, Police Director General Rajiv Kumar Sharma, reviewed the parade of the 98th and 99th batches of women constables. He described the occasion as a strong symbol of women empowerment.

During the ceremony, DGP Sharma highlighted the features of the newly introduced criminal laws, stating that these laws have been designed primarily for the benefit of citizens. Quoting Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, he said these three new laws represent the biggest reform in India’s criminal justice system in the 21st century. The laws integrate technology to address challenges anticipated over the next 50 years. He added that once fully implemented, these laws will ensure cases are resolved in the Supreme Court within three years. Furthermore, the laws strengthen provisions related to crimes against women and children by introducing a separate chapter.

DGP Sharma also emphasised that Rajasthan Police is constantly upgrading with modern technology. He mentioned that nearly 80,000 police officers and staff have registered on the central government’s iGOT platform and Karmayogi portal to undertake continuous online courses.

Addressing the newly trained policewomen, DGP Sharma urged them to spread awareness about the provisions of the new criminal laws among the public. He stressed the importance of ethics and sensitivity in their duties, saying that justice is not just a legal process but also involves respecting victims, listening carefully, and providing timely relief.

The DGP encouraged police personnel to work in harmony with modern technology. He appealed to them to make their work exemplary, learn new languages, improve computer skills, and use technology to their advantage. Considering the rising challenge of cybercrime, he instructed the police to focus more on data collection, analysis, and cyber patrolling.

He congratulated the award winners and reminded everyone that the greatest reward is a pure conscience. Concluding his speech, DGP Sharma referred to the recent DGP-IG conference and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directives, emphasising the need to change public perception of the police, strengthen policing, and pay special attention to women’s safety to improve the police’s image among the general public.

At the event, 12 women trainees were honoured with mementos and certificates for excellence in different training categories. Additionally, two women instructors of the Rajasthan Police Academy, Inspector Rajni Meena and Meena Verma, were also presented with appreciation certificates.
