Yusuf Pathan Confident of TMCs Victory in Upcoming Bengal Elections

Kolkata, April 9: Former cricketer and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Yusuf Pathan expressed strong confidence on Wednesday that his party will reclaim power in West Bengal during the upcoming assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters, Pathan highlighted the support he has received, particularly for TMC candidate Abdul Khalek Molla from the Metiabruz constituency in South 24 Parganas. He expressed joy over the affection and warmth he has experienced from the people of West Bengal.

Pathan emphasized that TMC is here to stay for the next 40 to 50 years. He remarked, “Didi (Mamata Banerjee) sent me to the Lok Sabha as a candidate from Baharampur, and the people embraced me like their own son. Wherever I go in Bengal, I receive the same love. This affection is not just for me, but for Didi and all TMC candidates.”

He firmly stated that TMC will definitely return to power, as the people of Bengal appreciate both the party and Didi, especially women and children.

Regarding the SIR issue, he expressed disappointment that names were removed despite the submission of necessary documents. However, he assured that Didi is fighting for the people and will continue to do so in the future. Pathan reminded everyone that Mamata Banerjee was the first sitting Chief Minister to argue against the Election Commission’s SIR in the Supreme Court.

He noted that no previous Chief Minister had taken such a step, highlighting the commendable efforts Didi has made for the people of Bengal, which have garnered widespread appreciation.
