Coimbatore, April 14: Actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to ramp up his election campaign in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday. He will be promoting candidates from his party, TVK, across eight key assembly seats.
According to party sources, Vijay will focus on the Tiruppur North, Tiruppur South, Avinashi, Palladam, Kangayam, Dharapuram, Udumalaipettai, and Madathukulam constituencies. This high-energy campaign is part of a strategy to bolster support ahead of the elections.
Vijay will arrive in Coimbatore by flight from Chennai on Tuesday morning. From there, he will travel by road to Avinashi, where his campaign will officially kick off. At 3 PM, he will begin a roadshow from the Attayampalayam division aboard a specially designed campaign vehicle.
The roadshow will pass through major areas, including the old and new bus stands in Avinashi. During this event, Vijay will address the public and urge them to vote for TVK candidates. Following this, his convoy will proceed along the national highway to Perumanallur, where he will continue his campaign.
The final phase of the roadshow will extend to Pooluvapatti, covering densely populated and commercial areas. Throughout the journey, Vijay will engage with supporters, party workers, and the general public.
The administration has granted conditional permission for this event from 2 PM to 5 PM, with strict security guidelines in place. Given the anticipated large crowd, a heavy police presence has been deployed in Avinashi, Perumanallur, Pooluvapatti, and surrounding areas. Senior police officials are monitoring the situation closely.
In a recent development, TVK has canceled Vijay’s scheduled campaign event in Dharmapuri, despite having received prior approval from the Election Commission. This decision has surprised party workers, and no official reason has been provided yet.
