UP Minister Criticizes Oppositions Lack of Courage in Assembly Debates

Lucknow, August 2: UP Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar targeted the opposition during a recent assembly session. He stated, “Whether it’s the Samajwadi Party or Congress, whenever they face us directly, they flee the assembly. They lack the courage to engage in face-to-face discussions. They will have to bear the consequences of their actions. The entire state and country are aware of their misdeeds.”

Minister Jaiveer Singh added, “The opposition should provide notices on issues according to the rules. The government is fully prepared to respond to any matters accepted for discussion by the chair during proceedings. We do not wish to evade or escape any issue.”

In response to AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s statements, Minister OP Rajbhar remarked, “Is anyone stopping them? This is democracy; everyone has the freedom to contest elections. Let them fight on all 403 seats. If they are contesting in Muslim-majority areas, they should do so openly. Regarding alliances, Akhilesh Yadav knows that his party treats Muslims like subordinates. Many leaders, MLAs, and MPs have become dependent, and no one is speaking up for their rights.”

Asaduddin Owaisi has proposed an open alliance to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, expressing a desire to prevent the BJP from returning to power.

On India’s performance at the Commonwealth Games 2026, Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar stated, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have provided facilities and support to athletes across the country. As a result of these efforts, India is now winning gold and silver medals on a large scale.”

Minister Jaiveer Singh also congratulated the medal-winning athletes, saying, “Congratulations to all the athletes who have won medals and performed excellently.”
