
New Delhi, August 2: The Krishna Nagar police in Shahdara, New Delhi, have arrested two suspects, including a housemaid, in connection with a theft involving gold jewelry and cash. The police recovered two diamond rings and ₹9,500 from the accused.
According to police reports, a complaint was filed by Sachin Gupta, a resident of Krishna Nagar. The e-FIR stated that on June 22, unknown thieves stole two diamond rings, a pair of gold earrings, and ₹15,800 from his home during the day.
Given the seriousness of the case, the investigation was assigned to Head Constable Neeraj. Under the leadership of Inspector Vijender Rana, a team was formed, including Head Constables Naveen Malik, Sachin, and Arun. The entire investigation was conducted under the supervision of the ACP of Gandhi Nagar and the DCP of Shahdara.
During the investigation, police inspected the crime scene, recorded statements from the complainant and other witnesses, and reviewed footage from nearby CCTV cameras. With the help of technical surveillance and local intelligence, the suspects were identified.
The investigation led to suspicion of the housemaid, Monica, who worked at the complainant’s home. Interrogation and technical analysis revealed that she had conspired with her accomplice, Vineet, to commit the theft. Based on this information, police conducted a raid in the village of Taharpur Bhavisa in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, and arrested Vineet. Monica was later apprehended as well.
During questioning, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft. Following their guidance, the police recovered the two diamond rings and ₹9,500. Authorities are now working to recover the remaining stolen items.
The Shahdara police have stated that strict and swift action against those involved in property-related crimes will continue. Further evidence is being gathered to shed more light on the case.
