Aurangabad, August 2: The murder of Vimal Kumar, the Executive Officer of the Dehri-Dalmianagar Municipal Council, has sent shockwaves through the administrative sector in Bihar’s Aurangabad district. The incident occurred late Saturday night near the Dhanouti Bridge in the Barun police station area. The police have launched an investigation and are currently questioning a suspect who has been taken into custody.
According to police reports, Vimal Kumar was traveling from Dehri to Patna in his car late at night when unidentified assailants overtook his vehicle and forced it to stop. The attackers initially took control of the driver and then brutally assaulted Vimal Kumar. His body showed signs of severe injuries.
Following the attack, Vimal Kumar was rushed to Narayan Medical College and Hospital in Jamuhar, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. Reports indicate that his body bore serious marks of assault and injuries from sharp weapons. It remains unclear if he sustained gunshot wounds; the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is released.
Police officials stated on Sunday that the motive behind the murder is still unclear. Investigations are being conducted from all angles. Evidence has been collected from the crime scene, and footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being reviewed. A suspect is currently in custody for questioning.
Vimal Kumar was originally from Sherghati in Gaya district, while his family currently resides in Patna. The news of his murder has created an atmosphere of mourning among administrative officials and his family.
