TMC MPs Rebellion Linked to Mamata Banerjees Leadership Style, Says Bihar Assembly Speaker

Patna, June 13: Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar addressed several key issues recently. He stated that elected representatives have the full right to express their views and make political decisions in a democracy.

Regarding reports of some Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs in West Bengal adopting a different stance due to dissatisfaction with party leadership and meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Kumar remarked that this is part of the democratic process.

He claimed that West Bengal has long been plagued by ‘jungle raj’ and a dictatorial atmosphere, causing public distress. According to him, many TMC MPs and MLAs are also unhappy with the party leadership. Under Mamata Banerjee‘s leadership, the party appears to be governed by one individual rather than a collective organization, leading to increased discontent among leaders. He emphasized that if MPs have chosen a different path, it is due to Mamata Banerjee’s leadership style and the party’s management.

On the directive to vacate Rabri Devi’s government residence, Kumar stated that rules and laws regarding government accommodations are established and must be followed. However, he also mentioned the need for dialogue between the government and relevant parties to resolve any disputes amicably. He reiterated that the main objective for him and the government is the development of Bihar, not engaging in politics over amenities like housing or vehicles.

When asked about the reduction of security for RJD leaders, the Assembly Speaker explained that security arrangements are reviewed periodically. Adjustments are made based on necessity. He clarified that security has not been entirely withdrawn but has only seen a slight reduction in numbers. The government must make decisions considering the security of all of Bihar and the needs of the public.

Kumar extended his best wishes to the new members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) who will take oath on June 18. He stated that all new NDA members will play a crucial role in advancing Bihar’s development and strengthening Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India.

In response to questions about the non-nomination of Deepak Prakash, son of Union Minister and National Lok Morcha leader Upendra Kushwaha, as an MLC, Kumar said that nothing is final yet. There is a six-month period under the rules, and the party leadership may consider this matter in the future.
