New Delhi, June 13: The Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, inaugurated several civic infrastructure projects in the Rohini assembly area on Saturday. He emphasized that the value of cities is ultimately assessed not just by the scale of infrastructure but also by the quality of life provided to its citizens.
Gupta stated that development should be visibly reflected in roads, facilities, and public spaces that empower community life.
During the event, he inaugurated newly constructed toilets at Green Valley Apartments in Sector 18 and a recreational center at Lotus Apartments in Pocket H-18, Sector 7.
He dedicated several RMC road projects to public interest, including the road from Gopal General Store to Jindal Traders in Naharpur village, and roads from house number 24 to house number 44 in Pocket F-19 of Sector 8, along with newly built RMC roads in Pocket F-15 and F-16 of the same sector.
These projects are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen civic infrastructure and improve public amenities in the constituency.
Addressing the residents, Gupta remarked that infrastructure developed at the neighborhood level has the most direct and long-term impact on citizens’ daily lives.
He noted that quality roads, sanitation facilities, and community spaces are essential components of a well-planned urban environment, significantly contributing to public utility, accessibility, and social welfare.
He further stated that development should not be limited to large projects but should also manifest as tangible improvements within local communities.
The Speaker emphasized the importance of transparency, quality assurance, and public accountability in the implementation of development works. He insisted that no contractor should receive payment until local resident welfare associations or community members certify that the work has been completed satisfactorily and meets established standards.
