
Bhopal, June 13: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan engaged with self-reliant women at the ‘Self-Reliant Women Honor’ event in Bhopal. He observed various products crafted by these women, highlighting their hard work, talent, and confidence.
Pradhan emphasized that the women of India are carving a new identity through skills, innovation, and self-reliance. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, continuous efforts are being made to empower women, making them capable and self-sufficient.
He specifically mentioned the ‘Lakhpati Didis’, who are setting new benchmarks in self-employment, education, skill development, and innovation. During the event, he praised women pursuing higher education, PhDs, and skill development programs like double ITIs, who are steering their futures in new directions.
Pradhan also highlighted initiatives that repurpose waste materials from temples into new products, showcasing an inspiring example of cleanliness, creativity, and self-reliance. He referenced the central government’s Govardhan scheme, stating that such initiatives transform waste into valuable resources, promoting environmental conservation and self-sufficiency.
The minister announced plans to collaborate with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to provide more educational and skill opportunities for women. Efforts will also be made to connect prestigious institutions like IIMs to this initiative, ensuring better opportunities and new possibilities for women.
He stressed the crucial role of women’s empowerment in making Bhopal a clean, beautiful, and self-reliant city. Additionally, he emphasized the need to promote the use of PNG for energy conservation, environmental protection, and improved lifestyles.
Pradhan expressed his hope that every household in Bhopal would witness stories of women’s self-reliance and success. He affirmed that the active participation of women is essential for realizing the dream of a ‘Developed India’, which will serve as the foundation for the country’s progress and prosperity.
