
Mumbai, June 23: A 60-year-old man was brutally murdered in Giridih district, Jharkhand. The victim has been identified as Vasudev Mandal. His body was discovered on the roadside near Janbedha village in the Dumri police station area on Tuesday morning. Authorities are currently investigating the case.
According to reports, Vasudev Mandal was a resident of Basgohra village in the Dumri area. Family members stated that he worked as a tractor operator and left home early each day. On Tuesday morning, he departed on his motorcycle, but hours later, his family received news that his body was found near Janbedha village. Upon reaching the scene, family members expressed concerns about foul play, noting multiple injuries on his body, indicating he had been beaten.
Relatives suspect that the murder may be linked to a land dispute. They are demanding the swift arrest of the perpetrators. After receiving information about the incident, Dumri police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The victim’s motorcycle was also recovered from the site.
Police are interviewing local residents to gather more information related to the case. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Abid Khan confirmed that Vasudev Mandal was murdered and that an investigation is underway. He mentioned that they are collecting information from family members regarding any potential grudges or disputes. The investigation is progressing with all aspects being considered. Upon learning of the incident, Giridih Superintendent of Police Dr. Vimal Kumar instructed officials to expedite the investigation. SDPO Abid Khan and Dumri police station in-charge Shrikant inspected the scene and collected evidence. Authorities stated that further actions will be taken based on the post-mortem report and ongoing investigation.
