Telangana CM Accused of Claiming Credit for Central Schemes by BJP Leader Manmeet Singh

Hyderabad, August 16: BJP leader Manmeet Singh has responded sharply to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s assertion that the ration card initiative is a state scheme. Singh accused CM Rao of attempting to take credit for the central government’s initiatives. He urged that images of Prime Minister Modi should be displayed alongside these schemes in the state.

In a conversation with a news agency, Singh condemned Sonia Gandhi for allegedly disrupting the national song “Vande Mataram” and called for unity among citizens.

He stated, “Sonia Gandhi has once again disrespected our national song. On August 15, during the Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony at Indira Bhavan, we witnessed her asking to stop the song right after the first stanza ended. Later, Jairam Ramesh claimed she was requesting a chair for Kharge, while Kharge signaled for the song to continue.”

Singh also referenced Rahul Gandhi’s comments that the song does not belong to them, likening it to the division of the country by Jawaharlal Nehru. He emphasized that the national anthem should be sung in its entirety at every national event.

He remarked, “We want to remind Rao that he is the Chief Minister of the state, while Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the country. Therefore, both the state and the center contribute to these schemes. Regarding the ration card issue, Rao claims they will distribute them, misleading the public into believing it is solely a state initiative.”

Singh pointed out that the central government provides 79 paise for every rupee allocated. However, Rao is presenting these efforts as the state’s doing. He criticized the state for taking credit for various central schemes without displaying PM Modi’s image in any labor department offices. Singh insisted that it is essential to include Modi’s image in state offices related to central schemes.
