Congress Should Apologize to the Nation for Insulting Vande Mataram: Vinod Bansal

New Delhi, August 16: Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, has sharply criticized Congress leaders for allegedly insulting Vande Mataram. He also condemned the derogatory remarks made against actress Faria Abdullah, labeling her as a ‘kafir.’

In a conversation, Bansal described the incident at the Congress headquarters during the country’s 80th Independence Day as highly unfortunate. He stated, “Three prominent leaders of Congress, who are above even the high command, publicly disrespected Vande Mataram, thereby insulting Mother India. This is not a hidden matter; the entire video is available on Congress’s own Twitter handle.”

He further explained, “The video clearly shows that Vande Mataram was sung until the second stanza, at which point Sonia Gandhi began to show signs of discomfort. Rahul Gandhi was also visibly restless. Following this, the Congress party claimed that Sonia Gandhi was concerned about Kharge and was requesting a chair because she was tired.”

Bansal accused Congress of reverting to a 1937 mentality, stating, “There can be no greater example of treason than this. Congress is known for treachery. They need to move beyond this mindset. The Congress party should apologize to the nation for this insult.”

On another note, Bansal expressed strong objections to the threats made against actress Faria Abdullah on social media, where she was referred to as a ‘kafir.’ He remarked, “Islamic jihadist elements cannot tolerate a Muslim woman standing with dignity, faith, and her culture. They want to ensure she remains confined within the burqa and that jihadist thinking prevails.”

He questioned, “Why do some people feel so troubled when an actress participates in a religious or cultural event? Why does their internal jihad awaken repeatedly? Why do they label her as a kafir and talk about violence against her? This is India, not Syria, Pakistan, or Afghanistan. They need to change because India is changing. Women deserve respect.” Bansal urged the Telangana government to ensure the safety of the woman and to prevent the mindset that threatens her life for being labeled a ‘kafir.’
