Patna, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly and a prominent figure in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission during a recent statement. He raised concerns about alleged electoral fraud and questioned the motives behind the Commission’s decisions.
On social media platform X, Yadav demanded to know who influenced the Election Commission’s actions that he claims have undermined democracy. He specifically targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, questioning the rationale behind the changes to previous decisions.
Yadav wrote, “Who directed the Election Commission to commit fraud and dishonesty in the elections?” He further inquired why the Commission is now altering its own rules and decisions out of fear.
In his remarks, he referred to Gyanesh Kumar as a ‘thief’ and challenged the integrity of the Commission’s past decisions. “Either those decisions were correct, or the current ones are,” he stated, emphasizing the inconsistency in the Commission’s approach.
The RJD leader made strong allegations regarding the electoral process, claiming that the people’s mandate has been manipulated and that the elections have been stolen. He accused the authorities of killing public trust and undermining democracy.
Yadav’s comments come amid growing scrutiny over the Election Commission’s impartiality and transparency in the electoral process. His statements are likely to reignite political debates surrounding the Commission’s role and decisions.
He has been vocal in holding the government and the Election Commission accountable, recently participating in a march to the Supreme Court organized by the opposition in New Delhi.
