Mumbai, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken aim at Rahul Gandhi for likening the India bloc’s movement to the divine acts of Lord Shiva. Speaking in Mumbai, Shinde warned that when Lord Shiva opens his third eye, all elements of the India bloc and those considered traitors will be reduced to ashes.
In an interview, Shinde expressed his disdain for Gandhi’s self-comparison to the deity, labeling it as childish and disrespectful. He stated, “This is not a divine dance but mere mischief. Those who equate themselves with Lord Shiva should remember that when he opens his third eye, those working against the nation will face dire consequences.”
Shinde also criticized the recent march organized by the India bloc, claiming it would be remembered as a dark day in India’s history due to the affront to democracy and the Supreme Court. He asserted that such opposition to the Supreme Court is unprecedented and constitutes an attack on the nation’s highest judicial authority. “They seek to spread unrest and chaos; this is a significant and orchestrated conspiracy,” he claimed.
He went further to suggest that this movement is part of an international conspiracy, accusing opposition leaders of acting like puppets. Shinde condemned their attempts to hinder the country’s progress, stating, “It is shameful that they are trying to obstruct India’s development.”
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shinde emphasized that the nation is progressing towards becoming a ‘developed India’ by 2047. He noted that while economies in many countries are faltering, Modi is steering India toward becoming one of the top five economies, with 1.4 billion Indians standing behind him.
Shinde also called out opposition leaders for their desperation to regain power, likening their efforts to a fish floundering without water. He criticized their attempts to gain power by tarnishing the nation’s reputation, pointing out their repeated electoral defeats.
In a separate incident, Shinde condemned Rahul Gandhi for allegedly mishandling a situation involving a pregnant journalist during a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The journalist claimed that Gandhi had grabbed her hand and pulled her forward, prompting security personnel to intervene. Shinde deemed Gandhi’s behavior inappropriate for a leader of the opposition and accused him of seeking publicity.
He urged citizens to consider whether opposition leaders are working to unite the country or divide it. “The India bloc is attempting to halt the nation’s progress, and we must ensure their failure,” he stated.
Reiterating his demand for strict action against those accused of anti-national activities, Shinde insisted that merely filing an FIR is insufficient. He argued that individuals engaged in treasonous activities should face imprisonment.
Reflecting on the state of civil liberties, Shinde noted that citizens are now free to approach the Supreme Court, organize protests, and express their opinions—contrasting this with the media restrictions imposed during the Emergency period.
