Protests in Germany Demand International Inquiry into Human Rights Violations in Balochistan

Hanover, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : A rally organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) took place in Hanover, Germany, on October 13, drawing attention to alleged human rights violations in Balochistan by Pakistani security forces. The protest highlighted issues such as enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and military operations.

The demonstration began in the central Kroepke area of Hanover and made its way to the Lower Saxony state parliament. Protesters chanted slogans outside the parliament and distributed flyers to raise awareness about the situation in Balochistan.

The BNM called on the international community to conduct an independent investigation into these matters, hold accountable those responsible, and take concrete steps to protect the Baloch people’s right to self-determination. Speakers at the rally included BNM activists Asif Baloch and Aqib Baloch, along with representatives from the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), Saeed Momand and Fazal Meena Khail.

During the gathering, speakers addressed concerns about enforced disappearances, arbitrary arrests, torture, and civilian deaths. They also emphasized the need for unity and practical cooperation between the Baloch and Pashtun communities.

Citing reports from the BNM’s human rights department, known as ‘Pank,’ speakers expressed concern over several alleged extrajudicial killings of civilians in the Panjgur district of Balochistan in August 2026. Among the names mentioned were Peer Jan, Shoaib Baloch, Hafiz Mudassir, Wazir Ahmed, and Jasim.

They demanded an independent investigation into all incidents, including civilian casualties resulting from military airstrikes and drone attacks. The speakers urged the United Nations and international human rights organizations to pay attention to these events and ensure accountability for those responsible.

The BNM reiterated that the Baloch people have the right to freedom and to determine their political future. The organization believes that the resolution of the Balochistan issue should be based on respect for human rights, justice, and the right to self-determination, rather than through the use of force.

Earlier this month, the BNM also held a protest in Seattle, USA, where they raised similar concerns regarding alleged human rights violations, military operations, and bombings in Balochistan. Speakers there appealed to the American public to voice opposition to the reported human rights abuses occurring in the region, stating that U.S. taxpayer funds supporting Pakistan indirectly bolster the Pakistani military.

They highlighted that ongoing violence, military operations, and conflicts in Balochistan are resulting in civilian casualties. The speakers urged the U.S. government to review its relations with Pakistan and the aid provided, insisting that any support must be linked to respect for human rights.
