New Delhi, August 1: Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for his act of forgiveness. This came after the Prime Minister forgave individuals who allegedly made offensive remarks against him during protests at Jantar Mantar in the capital. Krishnam stated that Modi has set a remarkable example.
In a new video message released on Friday, PM Modi expressed his desire to forgive all children who used inappropriate language not only against him but also against his late mother.
Reacting to this, Acharya Krishnam compared the Prime Minister’s act of forgiveness to the compassion shown by Lord Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi.
In a video he created, he recalled a story about Buddha during the protests at Jantar Mantar. He said, “The kind of language used against PM Modi reminded me of a tale about Gautam Buddha.”
He narrated, “Once, a man spat on Lord Buddha out of hatred. However, Buddha embraced him in response. Seeing this, the man began to cry, prompting Buddha to ask why he was weeping.”
Krishnam explained that the man apologized, astonished that despite his actions, Buddha had shown him love. The man expressed his belief that Buddha would now hate him, which is why he was in tears.
Acharya Krishnam emphasized the extraordinary nature of Buddha’s response, stating that Buddha replied, “I can never hate you, for I have only love to give.”
He asserted, “PM Modi has set an example akin to Gautam Buddha, Lord Mahavir, and Mahatma Gandhi.”
Krishnam added that this incident is deeply rooted in India’s culture and traditions, urging those who insulted the Prime Minister and his mother to understand its significance.
