New Delhi, August 25: Ravindra Indraj Singh, the MLA from Bawana and Cabinet Minister, provided significant suggestions during a meeting with the Public Works Department (PWD) regarding local needs and proposed road connectivity projects for his assembly constituency.
According to an official statement, he presented several important recommendations concerning the proposed elevated corridor over the auxiliary drainage channel in Bawana and the elevated corridor from Kanjhawala to Mangolpuri.
The proposed Kanjhawala-Mangolpuri elevated corridor will span approximately 11.70 kilometers. This project aims to reduce traffic pressure on major roads in western and northwestern Delhi, making transportation more convenient.
The meeting, held at the Delhi Secretariat, focused on key infrastructure projects by the PWD. The goal was to strengthen road infrastructure and connectivity in Delhi’s outer and rural areas.
Ravindra Indraj Singh emphasized that the Bawana assembly area is home to many villages and a rural population. Therefore, connectivity for local villages and residents should be a top priority when planning such large infrastructure projects.
He suggested that the proposed elevated corridor should include proper entry and exit arrangements for villages and local areas, adequate connecting roads, traffic safety measures, and facilities for pedestrians.
The minister stressed that the benefits of the project should not be limited to traffic passing through the main corridor but should also enhance mobility for surrounding villages and local residents.
He noted the need for a phased construction plan to ensure minimal adverse effects on local traffic and the daily commute of residents during construction.
Ravindra Indraj Singh also highlighted the importance of assessing the corridor’s capacity and connectivity, considering the potential for increased traffic in the future.
He stated that Bawana, Kanjhawala, and nearby rural areas have long required better road connectivity. Developing these projects in line with local needs will be a crucial step towards balanced and comprehensive development in the region.
The minister instructed PWD officials to incorporate suggestions from local representatives and the area’s actual conditions in the finalization of the project during the upcoming phases of the detailed project report implementation.
He concluded that this approach would not only meet the local needs of the Bawana assembly area but also benefit the entire population of outer Delhi.
