21st China Changchun Film Festival Kicks Off

Beijing, August 24: The 21st China Changchun Film Festival was inaugurated on August 23 in Changchun, Jilin Province, under the auspices of China Media Group (CMG) and the municipal government of Jilin Province.

The festival will run for six days, concluding on August 28. It will feature an awards ceremony, film screenings, and a film carnival among other events.

This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the Long March victory. Approximately 500 screening events related to snow and ice culture will also be held.

The theme for this year’s festival is “New Era, New Foundation, New Power.” A total of 157 films will compete and be showcased, covering genres such as drama, animation, mystery, war, and history.

After the selection process, 16 films including “Volunteer Peace at Last,” “Dear You,” “Nobody,” “Decisive Moment,” and “Blades of the Guardians” will compete for the prestigious “Golden Deer Awards.”
