New Delhi, August 25: The Jharkhand government is facing criticism from BJP national spokesperson RP Singh following a notice issued by the Supreme Court. Singh stated that children in Jharkhand are persistently demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, but the state government is attempting to evade scrutiny.
Singh claimed that the government fears that a CBI investigation could implicate those in power. He highlighted a recent petition filed by a child in the Supreme Court, which prompted the apex court to seek a response from the Jharkhand government. Singh expressed hope that the Supreme Court would intervene and, if necessary, order a CBI investigation. He emphasized the need for a fair inquiry to uncover the truth and address the demands raised by the children.
In response to the decision to investigate alleged embezzlement in 558 madrasas in Uttar Pradesh, Singh stated that any corruption involving government funds should be thoroughly examined. Given the significant amounts involved, a serious investigation is essential. Organizations managing these madrasas should cooperate with the inquiry. If no irregularities are found, the investigation will clarify the situation. Conversely, if corruption is detected, action should be taken against those responsible.
Singh also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for referencing Manusmriti, asserting that India operates under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution, which is supreme. He questioned why Congress, if genuinely concerned about women’s rights, opposed the triple talaq in the past.
Citing the Shah Bano case, Singh asked why the then-government overturned the Supreme Court’s decision through Parliament. He accused Congress and Rahul Gandhi of raising women’s issues based on political convenience, asserting that merely claiming to support women for political gain is insufficient.
Regarding the notice issued to former diplomat Navdeep Suri under the Special Intensive Review (SIR) in Punjab, Singh described it as a normal and routine process. He stated that document verification under SIR is standard procedure.
On the ongoing controversy over a fish feast in Ayodhya, Singh remarked that there is a ban on the consumption of meat and fish within a 15-kilometer radius of Ayodhya. He suggested that if someone deliberately organizes a fish feast despite being aware of this restriction, it could be seen as an attempt to provoke religious sentiments. Ayodhya is a significant religious site, and understanding its sensitivities is the responsibility of all political parties and individuals.
