Mathura, August 17: Sadhvi Ritambhara, a Padma Bhushan awardee, has criticized Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi. This criticism arose from an alleged incident during the singing of the national song “Vande Mataram” at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi on Independence Day. Ritambhara described the situation as a grave insult, stating that Gandhi’s heart has never truly beat for the nation.
The controversy erupted after a video surfaced showing senior Congress leaders engaged in conversation while “Vande Mataram” was being sung during the Independence Day celebrations. In an interview, Sadhvi Ritambhara remarked, “Sonia Gandhi has committed a significant insult. Her demeanor during the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ clearly indicated her discomfort and displeasure. These are individuals who cannot tolerate the country’s progress. Their hearts have never genuinely beat for the nation, yet they are imposed upon the public. The entire country and the world witnessed this scene. She should show such unease when confronted by a terrorist.”
Ritambhara emphasized that the song “Vande Mataram” evokes memories of countless sacrifices, stirring love for the country in our hearts. This is the same “Vande Mataram” sung by freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence. However, she lamented the strange reality of those trapped in mental slavery, who wish to dominate our hearts and minds, and do not even love India. They are pained by “Vande Mataram.” The world has seen this; it is an unforgivable crime.
Additionally, she commented on the CJP protests at Jantar Mantar, stating that it is evident they are being exploited. She criticized the type of food distributed and the attire of the girls present, calling it shamelessness on Indian soil. Such individuals should not even dream of leading India.
Sadhvi Ritambhara acknowledged that protesting issues is a beautiful aspect of democracy. When those in power do not listen, people must raise their voices. However, she cautioned that if the nation is like a massive banyan tree infested with termites, the demand should not be to uproot the entire tree but to treat the termites. She condemned the notion that decisions will now be made on the streets, asserting that chaos must never be allowed in the country.
