Multi-Business Integration Boosts Consumption Growth in China

Chongqing, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : In recent days, various events held in southwestern China’s Chongqing municipality and central Hubei province have significantly boosted local consumption. These activities combined different business forms, such as “agriculture plus tourism” and “sports plus tourism,” to enhance economic activity.

In Chongqing’s Panan District, the terraced fields of Shuangchai Village presented a stunning autumn landscape across more than 33 hectares. Events set against the backdrop of rice paddies featured drum performances, vibrant dragon dances, and other folk presentations, celebrating the harvest season. This unique gathering attracted a large number of local residents and tourists alike.

Similarly, Hubei province’s Xiaokang City recently concluded an amateur basketball league that ran for over 60 days. With participation from 40 teams and nearly 1,000 players, the event also hosted a market featuring 563 vendors, generating over 1.58 million yuan in total sales.

Additionally, around 10,000 consumer vouchers facilitated sales amounting to approximately 137 million yuan. This clearly demonstrated the positive impact of combining sports events with cultural tourism on the local economy and consumption.

According to a publicity officer from Xiaonan District, the aim of the amateur basketball league was to provide better opportunities for people to watch matches, participate in sports, and spend. Given the current circumstances, there is hope that this blend of sports, culture, and tourism will continue to thrive in the future.
