Ayodhya, August 16: A new dress code has been implemented for priests at the Ram Temple, the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. Jagadguru Acharya Paramhans has responded to this decision, calling it a positive initiative. However, he emphasized that it should not be imposed on the priests without their consent and that input from saints and scholars is essential.
Acharya Paramhans stated, “Having a dress code in the temple of Lord Shri Ram is a good idea. Just as the deity’s attire changes, there should be seven colors designated for each day of the week.”
He stressed the importance of consulting the priests before making such decisions. “The agreement of the priests is crucial, and their advice should be sought. Additionally, the opinions of other scholars should be considered to determine what would be best.”
The Acharya added, “The dress code should not be forced upon the priests. Instead, they should be provided with the clothing. The Ram Temple administration should supply them with garments and inform them that they will receive seven colors of clothing for each day.”
During this discussion, Jagadguru also commented on the ongoing controversy surrounding ‘Vande Mataram.’ He urged all Members of Parliament to respect the national anthem and avoid crossing the line of nationalism in political disputes.
He remarked, “I request all MPs not to disrespect ‘Vande Mataram,’ and there should be a limit to accusations. While engaging in political discourse, one should not cross the boundaries of nationalism. I felt immense pride when all MPs stood up as ‘Vande Mataram’ was played. That is how it should be. National pride must be evident.”
He urged leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, to prioritize national interests and raise issues that benefit the public.
