Mumbai, August 16: Sanjay Raut, a member of the Rajya Sabha from Shiv Sena UBT, has criticized the central government following the notice issued to Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
In response to the notice sent to Rahul Gandhi, Raut questioned, “Why was he sent a notice? He called someone an ‘idiot.’ Is ‘idiot’ an unparliamentary term? Our Home Minister, who ordered pellet guns against small children at Jantar Mantar and used tear gas and spiked sticks against them, if he does not come to Parliament and answer, what would you call him?”
He further stated, “Aamir Khan’s film ‘3 Idiots’ received many awards. If ‘idiot’ is an unparliamentary word, how did the censor board approve this film?”
Raut posed the question, “Is calling an idiot an offense in this country?”
He also commented on Maharashtra government minister Nitesh Rane’s Kanwar Yatra, saying, “I don’t know. Was he conducting the Kanwar Yatra in a car with his parents seated inside? He is trying to present himself as Shravankumar. All of this is idiotic. Rahul Gandhi used the right term. This country has produced both blind devotees and idiots.”
It is noteworthy that the Kanwar Yatra was organized in Thane under the joint auspices of Mumbreshwar Devi and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, with Maharashtra government minister Nitesh Rane also participating.
Commenting on Baba Ramdev’s recent statements, Raut said, “Baba Ramdev has now realized that the winds are changing in the country. This means he knows that PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are going, which is why Baba Ramdev has shifted his loyalty.”
Ramdev has alleged that government recruitment is marred by corruption and favoritism. He highlighted the dire state of the education system, pointing out the severe shortage of teachers, water, and basic facilities in schools. He warned the government that if these ‘scams’ are not addressed, significant protests could erupt among the youth and students once again.
