Patna, July 30: A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged from the Chanpura Imadpur village in the Jehanabad district of Bihar. On Wednesday morning, a woman was brutally murdered by her brother-in-law following a minor argument.
According to police reports, the accused has been arrested. The victim, identified as Anshu, had been married for just one year and was originally from the Gonpura village in the Arwal district.
The incident occurred while other family members were busy planting rice in nearby fields. Initial investigations revealed that the accused, Kunal Kumar, had asked his sister-in-law to serve him food. When Anshu approached him with some dirt on her hands, he became enraged.
Kunal then violently threw Anshu to the ground and assaulted her. He subsequently attacked her with a sharp weapon (a sickle), severing her head from her body. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
This heinous act has instilled fear in the village, prompting a large crowd to gather at the site. Villagers alerted the police, leading a team from the Parasabigha police station to arrive and take possession of the body. The police prepared an investigation report and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Anshu’s family is in deep shock over her untimely death within just a year of her marriage. Following the incident, the accused fled the scene. However, upon receiving information, the Parasabigha police conducted a raid and arrested Kunal Kumar within hours.
The police have taken the accused into custody for questioning and have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations into the true motive behind the murder are ongoing.
