Jaipur, August 4 (H.S.) – The spell of heavy rainfall that had persisted across Rajasthan over the past few days has now weakened. As skies cleared on Monday, heat and humidity returned to several parts of the state. The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has issued a yellow alert for five districts — Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, and surrounding areas — predicting light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and winds reaching speeds of 20–30 km/h.

Light Showers Continue in Some Districts
On Sunday, intermittent rain was reported in parts of eastern Rajasthan, including Bharatpur, Alwar, and Karauli. In response to persistent weather conditions, the Jhalawar District Collector extended school holidays until August 6.
A tragic incident occurred in Karauli, where an elderly man drowned while trying to save two children bathing in the Banas River.

Weather Outlook for the Week
According to the IMD, scattered rainfall is likely to continue in some parts of the state during the coming week, but the chances of extremely heavy rainfall are low. Experts say the monsoon trough line has shifted northwards, now passing through Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Shahjahanpur, and Lucknow towards the eastern region. As a result, its influence over Rajasthan has weakened.
