Kolkata, June 16: TMC MP Sougata Roy has commented on a letter from MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla regarding PM Modi’s visit to Kolkata and Kunal Ghosh.
In an interview, Roy expressed that PM Modi’s presence in Kolkata for International Yoga Day is welcomed. He stated, “This time he is not here for promotion, but to celebrate Yoga Day. This is a positive development.”
Responding to Kakoli Ghosh’s letter, he remarked, “I have nothing to say on this matter. I am unaware of what Kakoli Ghosh has done. I learned from the newspapers that she has joined a new party, one that supports the BJP and opposes TMC.”
Roy mentioned that Kalyan Banerjee is with Mamata Banerjee in TMC. He accused Kakoli Ghosh of potentially trying to undermine Kalyan Banerjee.
Congress leader Surendra Rajput stated that Mamata Banerjee has always been a crucial part of the ‘India’ bloc. He alleged that the BJP and its ecosystem are continuously attacking her.
On speculations regarding a possible merger between TMC and Congress, Minister OP Rajbhar commented, “They have been with Congress before. What will they achieve by joining Congress now? The party is nearly finished, and they are politically weakened.”
BJP leader RP Singh remarked, “Mamata Banerjee cannot detach herself from her nephew. This has harmed the government, and now the party is on the verge of a split.”
Bihar government minister Ram Kripal Yadav stated, “There is a split situation in TMC. People are dissatisfied with Abhishek Banerjee‘s style of functioning. Everyone has heard Kalyan Banerjee’s statements.”
