Abu Dhabi, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh met with Major General Rashid Mohammed Al Shamsi, the commander of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense, in Abu Dhabi on September 4. The two leaders discussed measures to strengthen defense and military cooperation between their countries.
The UAE Ministry of Defense shared details on social media, revealing that the meeting focused on various mutual interests. They explored new avenues for bilateral cooperation in the military and defense sectors. Additionally, both nations emphasized the importance of joint efforts to enhance regional security and stability.
Earlier in June, UAE Army Deputy Commander Brigadier General Staff Mohammed Khamis Mohammed Al-Hassani met with Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi in New Delhi. Their discussions centered on increasing professional military exchanges and identifying new areas for collaboration between the two armies.
According to the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI), both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional ties, building mutual trust, and advancing a shared vision for regional security and stability.
In January of this year, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held extensive talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an official visit to India. The leaders identified defense and security cooperation as a key pillar of the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE.
A joint statement highlighted the recent exchanges between the chiefs of the army, navy, and air force, celebrating the success of bilateral military exercises and the signing of a letter of intent towards a strategic defense partnership.
