Warsaw, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met with Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Warsaw on September 4, 2026, to discuss the positive trajectory of the India-Poland strategic partnership.
Following their meeting, Jaishankar expressed his satisfaction on social media platform X, stating, “It was a pleasure to meet President Karol Nawrocki. Our discussions focused on the positive direction of our strategic partnership. We shared insights on the Ukraine conflict, the Middle East, IMEC, and the G20.”
Jaishankar also engaged with the India-Poland Parliamentary Group, sharing thoughts on shaping modern relations between the two countries. He noted, “I was pleased to meet with the India-Poland Parliamentary Group led by Kinga Gajewska. We exchanged ideas on shaping contemporary India-Poland relations and discussed regional developments in the broader context of our ties with the EU. I hope for regular exchanges between our parliamentary friendship groups.”
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar met with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski to review the progress of the Joint Action Plan for 2024-2028. After their meeting, he stated on X, “This afternoon, I met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in Warsaw. We reviewed the progress of our Joint Action Plan 2024-28, focusing on trade and investment, space, digital technology, AI, semiconductors, defense, education, shipping, mining, energy, people-to-people contacts, culture, and multilateral cooperation.”
He emphasized the importance of Poland’s support for deeper India-EU cooperation, expressing confidence that the implementation of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would further strengthen bilateral ties. Jaishankar also discussed the need to bolster supply chains and address complex global challenges related to food, fuel, and fertilizer security. He asserted, “Endless wars should be replaced by efforts to end conflicts.”
Highlighting the ongoing wars and challenges regarding the availability of food, fuel, and fertilizers, Jaishankar noted that India and Poland can collaborate on significant global discussions. During a joint media address with Sikorski, he reiterated their discussions on major global and regional issues, including the Ukraine conflict, which is now in its fifth year. Jaishankar remarked, “I believe most of you know that I just returned from Kyiv. India believes that instead of endless wars, we should strive to end conflicts. No one wins in such wars. Each passing day leads to more deaths, more devastation, and increased suffering for the involved parties and a heavier burden on the rest of the world.”
